A bronchoscopy is a diagnostic procedure, where a thin, flexible tube (bronchoscope) is inserted into the lungs, through the nose or mouth. The tube has a light and a camera at its end, which allows for examination of the airways and enables diagnosis of certain conditions.

Endobronchial Ultrasound (EBUS) is a specialised bronchoscopy technique where an ultrasound at the end of the the bronchoscope. It is inserted in the same way as a bronchoscope, either through the nose or mouth. An internal ultrasound scan of your airways allows for the identification of abnormal masses and glands. If an abnormal area is found, under direct ultrasound vision, a needle is inserted into the abnormal area, and a sample is obtained (transbronchial needle aspiration).

Dr Zheng is experienced in performing bronchoscopy and EBUS.
